Those of you long time Aquaman fans out there, rejoice… it looks like the king of the seas is coming back with a bang….
And in case you didn’t already figure this out, I <3 Aquaman and since Mera made her appearance in Blackest Night, I’ve reconsidered her as a character I can get behind. I can’t wait to see what’s to come for the whole Atlantis crew. I’ve been waiting for someone with grit and superb writing skills to pick up the mantle when it came to Aquaman and hopefully deepen the characters and villains. I’ve always felt as though Aquaman suffered a simmilar fate as Wonder Woman did — killer concept, filled with incredible mythos, but had a difficult time conecting with the rest of the DCU and still maintaining the core concepts without constant tweaking because each new writer didn’t know how to handle the history. I have high hopes for this reboot.
Now if only we could actually move our vehicles to get to a comic book store before next week….

it was just a matter of time before I started posting about comic books again, and what a day to start! Blackest Night Wonder Woman #2 came out last week, and Blackest Night #6 the week before that, and since we know I shamelessly adore all things Wonder Woman, I’ll be writing a review of Blackest Night Wonder Woman to post asap, likely over at Dynamic Forces, so keep your eyes peeled! For now, how about some major Comic Book news?
Brightest Day Preview
Am I excited? Considering the fact that I love what Geoff Johns has done with characters outside of the “big three” or “trinity” in the DC Universe, I’m elated! Not only will it be another DC Universe scoping arc, it will be a 26 issue, bi-weekly series, and have tie in runs with the Brightest Day banner attached just like Blackest Night did. And I’m not the only one excited about this news:
So if you haven’t caught up on your Blackest Night reading, you might want to do so before the April launch of Brightest Day! I’ve avoided reviewing or discussing the individual issues of Blackest Night thus far, but know that one of the wonderful aspects of the Blackest Night arc that Geoff Johns is writing is that you can read only the main books (Blackest Nights 1-8) and understand the crux of the arc, the main histories for the different Corps, and get a general sense of how the event is shaking up the entire DC Universe. Trust me, though, you won’t be disappointed if you pick up the numerous tie ins that have been released alongside the main books. They’re worth it, if not for the more detailed, nuanced examinations of characters and groups and how they are effected by the event, then for the sheer craving to keep the story going beyond the central book.

Dynamic Forces
Remember that cool news I mentioned a few times? Remember how I didn’t want to jinx it? Well, today kicked off my contributions to the Dynamic Forces site where I’ll be blogging about and reviewing Comic Books and issues in the Comic Book world. There will be blog posts and articles and even a section where we weigh in on a few comics collectively. It’s exciting! Dynamic Forces is the distribution arm of the Dynamite publishing house, and if you want something signed, original art, statues, posters… pretty much anything, you won’t find a better place to get it from than Dynamic Forces. They’re the comic book and collectible industry’s top producer of limited edition and autographed memorabilia (unless, of course, you know the amazing writer or artist and they give it to you because you’re awesome… in which case… why aren’t we friends yet?). The guys over there are great, and smart too!
